How to enable WhatsApp on multiple Android devices and iPhones
Meta recently rolled out a major update to its instant cross-platform messaging app, WhatsApp, which now allows users to access a single WhatsApp account on up to four devices. What makes it even more special is the fact that the companion device will continue to receive messages even if the main device is disconnected from the internet.
Here’s how you can add up to four companion Android smartphones or iPhones to your WhatsApp account. Do note that, at max, one WhatsApp account can be used on up to four devices, which includes smartphones, PCs, and tablets.
If you have an Android smartphone, download the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play Store. Similarly, if you are an iPhone user, download or update WhatsApp from the Apple Store.
Open WhatsApp on your companion device, click on “agree and continue.” Now, you will see an option to enter your country code and phone number. On the top right corner, click on the three dots and select “link a new device.”
Now, you will see a big barcode with a WhatsApp logo in the middle.
Next, go to your primary phone that has a WhatsApp account. Click on the three dots in the top right corner and then select “linked devices.” click on”link a new device,” authenticate, and then scan the barcode on the secondary device.
Now you can access all your WhatsApp chats on the companion smartphone. Depending on the internet speed and the amount of content your WhatsApp might have, it will take a few minutes to load.
If you want to remove any of the companion phones, go to your primary phone, open WhatsApp, access the “linked devices“menu and click on the”logout” option, which will instantly log out of that specific device.
